Valentine's Day: A Day to Celebrate Love and Sweet Treats

Valentine's Day is a special holiday celebrated around the world on February 14th. It's a day dedicated to expressing love and affection towards our loved ones, and a great opportunity to share sweet treats and make memories. Whether you're single or in a relationship, there's no better way to show someone you care than by cooking them a delicious meal or whipping up a batch of treats.

One of the most popular Valentine's Day treats is cookies. Soft and chewy, with a little bit of sweetness, cookies are a classic dessert that everyone loves. Anyone that knows Kara and I personally know we love cookies, any day, every day! And this year, we have the perfect recipe for you: Sour Cream Cookies. These cookies are soft and fluffy, with a slight tang from the sour cream, and a hint of vanilla. They're the perfect sweet treat to share with someone you love, or just to enjoy on your own.

Sour Cream Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

1 cup Crisco

1 ¾ cup white sugar

2 eggs, beaten

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup sour cream

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the Crisco and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, sift together the baking powder, baking soda, salt, and flour. Gradually add the flour mixture alternately with sour cream to the butter mixture, beating until just combined.

Roll out and cut with cookie cutter or drop teaspoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are light golden brown. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

These Sour Cream Cookies are the perfect sweet treat for Valentine's Day. Whether you're sharing them with someone special, or indulging on your own, they're sure to be a hit. So why not whip up a batch and make this Valentine's Day a little sweeter.

Happy Valentine's Day!
